PSP or Nintendo

Do you want to get the kids the new Sony PSPthis Christmas? Or would you rather have the re-vamped Nintendo DS? Nintendo is making a big push with its electronic puppies, and the software is pretty impressive. Anyone coming under heavy pressure from the kids to get a dog may well conclude than a hundred quid spent on a piece of electronics you can switch off is good deal. They are certainly a lot quieter than the real thing. Overall, however, the PSP wins hands down because, even though it is more expensive, it does a lot more. As well as games you can watch movies on them (although at £25 for a kids movie, it is expensive). You can listent to audio as well – so the PSP is perfect for listening to Storynory. The only drawback is the limited number of small childrens games – Sony seem to think their main market is blood-thirsty teenage boys (they’re probably right of course). Still, that will probably change as the market expands. The PSP is worth the extra expense.
