Toads Cross Road Safely
This isn’t a joke about why the toad crossed the road. It’s a true story from Norton’s Wood, Somerset, here in England. At this time of year, loads of toads are on the move, looking for mates so that they can start families and have lots of little toads. Unfortunatley, many of them get squashed by cars when they leave the woods and cross the road. There is one road in particular where loads and loads of toads get squashed. And so this year, the local council has closed the road for three months so that the toads can cross it safely.
