The Mr. Men, including Mr. Silly, Mr. Messy, and Mr. Bump, are 35 years old today. They are celebrating their birthday with an exhibition at London’s Animation Gallery.
Their creator, Roger Hargreaves, came up with the first character, Mr Tickle, when his young son, Adam, asked what a tickle looked like. Since then, The Mr. Men books have sold more than 100 million copies worldwide, making Roger the third best-selling British author in history.
