Kids and TV

An interesting article here about children under 2 watching television - apparently it’s bad for them. Studies show that babies who are plonked in front of the TV have problems with attention spans later on, regardless of what was watched. Once they reach three, and hour of quality viewing in addition to an hour in front of the computer is fine.

Now of course listening to stories is generally thought to be an important part of a child’s development, and very beneficial for attention spans. We were contacted recently by an educational authority in the UK that’s interested in providing our audio to pre-schoolers, so that they arrive at school being able to relate a story that they have heard. This is, of course, one reason why children have been told stories down the ages.
