Super model Cindy Crawford has given her daughter an early start in the family business (still a child). What’s more, the younger Crawford is modelling swimwear. I don’t really have an opinion about the rights and wrongs of the case - but I do think that the strong views on both sides - as seen in the comments on this blog - say a lot about modern childhood in our society. The golden era of childhood is consigned for ever to the realm of Enid Blyton. Perhaps that’s why her Famous Five are back in vogue. We long for an era when children could be seen in swimsuits on the beach, and nobody batted an eyelid.
