Bertie is very pleased to have Natasha as his special story-teller. When Natasha’s not reading stories, she is also working in theatre and film. She was born in Cardiff and now lives in London, and she has also lived in Montreal. She trained as an actress at the Central School of Speech and Drama, after taking a degree in English and Drama at Royal Holloway University of London. Some of her stage roles have included Viola in Twelfth Night, Jill in Equus, and Florinda in The Rover. She also has numerous film credits including Velma in Guardian of the Night, Catherine in Creta, Nicola in Set Life, and Claire in Vincent. She has also done voice-overs for animations, including Rhianna Shy in Lights Out in association with the Sci-fi Channel.

    Natasha,
Your voice is so melodic and soothing, it captures the attention of children and adults alike. All of your stories are my favorites, and I have to admit, I downloaded all of them only for me, since I have no children. I listen to them on my daily walks, and find the humdrum of exercise much improved by them! Many thanks, and do not stop, no matter what!
    Sincerely,
    Colette

Honestly, Natasha Gostwick is the best story-teller on the planet!! Her voice is soooo soothing (even for someone who just had a bad day), therapeutic and pleasing to the ears! Her story-telling skill is unmatched!!

How about a “Natasha Gostwick Fan club or web site” for her adoring fans (children and adults) worldwide?

That would be excellent I reckon.

    Hi Sheryl,

When Natasha is not doing Storynory she’s busy leading an actress’s life, and so I do all the replies. She loves reading the stories, – and she does them wonderfully – but it seems that this sort of thing is not for her.

Hi, my kids love the stories on this site. We use audio books a lot as I am blind and so can’t read as much as I would like with my kids. Natasha is certainly one of the best readers of kids’ stories I have come across. Thanks for such a wonderful site. My kids and I appreciate it.

Donna – Thanks you so much for letting us know. I do think that somebody who is blind is in a good position to judge audio books. Natasha isn’t always online to answer comments, but I do know that she really appreciates lovely comments like this.

I’m from Russia. I have learnt English by myself for 5 years yet, but I’m still not very good at it. Earlier I tried to find audio-books on the Internet but for them I had to pay. It’s a problem for me. Recently, by tutoring a pupil, I tried again and I was glad to find so excellent narration. I felt it is a British Accent, but after going at this page I found I was right, and I also found you look nice as well. I hope you don’t only please us but have something for yourself.

    Best wishes.

You have a really pretty voice and I always wondered what you looked like. I don’t think you have to be young to enjoy your stories. You are a really good actress. My favorite voice that you immitate is Tim the Tadpole. You make his voice sound so cute! I think you can sound like anything or anybody! I hope to be as good as an actress as you are. You are my inspiration!

I too have no children. I am 22, to be 23 March 27th and I have mild insomnia. My boyfriends would read me stories at night to help me fall asleep. Since I’ve discovered your podcast I no longer solicit them for a nighttime story, as I am usually so distracted with my own critique of their story-telling I often times find little in the way of rest after hearing a story from them. Your story-telling is much more melodic and soothing, I always find a good night’s rest after hearing one of your stories. Thank you so much. Please continue and good luck in your endeavors.

Hi, folks at Storynory. My little girl Leah is 4 and has loved listening to Natasha read stories since we played Jack and the Beanstalk for her several months ago. Her favorite story is “The Three Sillies” — it gets played over and over again and keeps her laughing on long car trips on interstate highways. We’d just like to say thanks to all who help make the stories come to life.

I am proud of your question Twin! I was thinking of asking it but wasn’t sure how to. I have been commenting about God’s blessings of such a voice to Natasha though. God bless!

  • Posted June 17, 2009 at 11:00 pm | Permalink

    Dear OJ, Twin, Etc.
I can’t speak for Natasha, but I would like to say that the comment section on Storynory is a place to talk about stories – and it isn’t really the place to try and lure anyone into a religious discussion or to draw out their personal views and outlook. I hope you don’t mind. When somebody asked me the same question, I answered yes I am a Christian but we want this to be a site for everyone, whatever they believe or don’t believe, and I would like to add that we don’t have any political or religious agenda. We do have some stories here that reflect the christian tradition but we also want, overtime, to draw on all cultures.

But also, OJ, thank you for your very nice comments about Natasha’s voice and your good wishes !

I am glad you guys are really being polite. And it is great that this site is geared for all children. I wouldn’t like the site otherwise. I love that you tell stories that are well rounded and from many cultures. They are always clean and Natasha really is talented. I also find it really cool that “Bertie” replies to comments, I had never seen that done before. It makes it all very personal.
Pretty much, you tell great stories, old and new, with talented people all around. :) I have no complaints. The only reason I wanted to as Natasha bout God was that I think she would be a great person to have telling stories in Heaven, and I know she has done something for me and i wanted to return the favor. Thank you, all of you who make every aspect f this site possible.
