Museum of Childhood Reopens

The V&A Museum of Childhood reopens in London’s East End, in time for Christmas. The building was first opened by the Prince of Wales in 1872 as the Bethnal Green Museum. It became connected with children in the 1920s. In 2003, the National Lottery gave it funding for its redevelopment. After this Saturday there will be a range of activities and temporary displays, the first featuring two children’s books – “Miffy” – the comic book creation of Dick Bruna, and “Alfred and the Pirates” by Irving Finkel and illustrated by 15 year old Emily Donegan. Opens midday on Saturday 9th December.
