Oh Bother! It’s Darby!
Newsweek called Storynory recently about our Save Christopher Robin Campagin. They quoted Bertie’s friend Hugh and you can read the article here (The reference to “his blog” in the article really means Storynory).
In the TV series of “My Friends Tigger and Pooh”, Christopher Robin will be largely replaced by a Tomboy called Darby. When we first heard about this, we began a petition which has been signed by loads of visitors to our site. The series begins on May 12th and is still attracting anger from lovers of traditional children’s literature.
Disney’s Pooh is largely a travesty anyway, but the Darby Debacle perfectly sums up the carelessness with which the Corporation sacrifices a timeless classic on the the alter of the latest trend. If you feels the way we do, please leave a comment on the petition mentioned above.
And yes, we did get excited thinking Newsweek was going mention Storynory a little more explicitly, but lots of Christopher Robin’s friends seems to have found us anyway via the obscure reference in the article. Our thanks to those blogggers who pointed it out to us.

Where to begin?
Right. Unlike all you bloggers out there, I think it is a swell idea that I’d make some sort of fanfic(preferably fancomic) starring Christopher Robin. It will be pretty much a continuation of “Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue” and tells the story of seven children chosen by the 7 Star spirits from “Paper Mario” to fight bad guys such as Powerpuff Girls villian Mojo Jojo, the often missed NoHeart from the CareBears tv show, and the Smithy Gang from Super Mario RPG. Each is given an elemental abilitie and attacks from “Pokemon”, and use them to fight…um…evil. THEY ARE THE STAR KIDS!
These children would be:
Christopher Robin(Pooh): Leader of the Star Kids.
Chris Thorndyke(Sonic X): He’s basically Sonic’s answer to Pooh’s Chris Robin.
Corey(Cartoon All-Stars):Michael’s little sister and possibly Christopher Robin’s main squeeze
David(All Dogs go to Heaven 2):A boy from San Fransisco.
Ane-Marie(All Dogs go to Heaven):A girl from the past. She and David are an item!
Travis(Hamtaro):Japanese Girl
Laura(Hamtaro):Japanese Boy. Laura has a crush on him
