Thank you for this great summary of the Little Red Riding Hood story. There are other versions also written not just by Charles Perrault where Little Red Riding Hood does not get eaten up.

There was a girl who had a red hood, so that’s why they called her Little Red Riding Hood.

One day, her mother asked her to bring her grandmother some food. Little Red Riding Hood went out to the woods. On the way, she met the wolf.

The wolf wanted to eat Little Red Riding Hood. The wolf went to Little Red Riding Hood and asked, “Where are you going?” Little Red Riding Hood answered, “To bring my grandmother some food.”

The wolf and Little Red Riding Hood raced to the grandmother’s house.

The wolf got to the grandmother’s house first and ate the grandmother up!

Little Red Riding Hood went in the house. She asked, “Grandmother, what big nose, and eyes, and teeth you have!”

The wolf answered, “All the better to smell you, see you, and eat you with!”

With that, the wolf gobbled up Little Red Riding Hood.

Then woodcutters heard the wolf. They hurried in and chopped open the wolf’s tummy, and out came Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother.

The Wolf in this story is a horrible character in this fairytale adaptation by Charles Perrault. When he finds Little Red Riding Hood in the Woods he is very surprised and cunningly makes his way to her grandmothers cottage. Once there he gobbles up grandmother, dresses in her clothes and waits for Little Red Riding Hood to arrive.Luckily a Woodcutter nearby saves the day.
