Alice Wonderland DayOneĀ  “golden afternoon” - 7th July 1862 - a mathematics tutor at Oxford University took three little girls on a boating picnic along the River Isis (Thames). On the way he told them a surreal nonsense tale. One of the little girls was called Alice Liddell and she became the main character in the story. Later, Lewis Carroll (real name Charles Dodgson) published “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” based on the stories he told that day.

This 7th July, 2007, you can take part in Alice Day at Oxford. Take a picnic basket along the river, see Alice Treasures in the museums, watch Alice Performances, and even see the dead Dodo which inspired the character in the book, based on Lewis Carroll / Charles Dogson himself (Do-Dogson).

And don’t forget that you can listen to Natasha reading Alice any day of the year on Storynory.
