Root of the Tree is a lovely idea. It’s a toolbar for parents and kids, packed with bookmarks for safe, useful and entertaining sites. It’s easy to install with a couple of clicks, and it sits along the top of your web browser. The default view is for parents, but don’t miss the in-depth stuff by switching to other views including seeding (1 -3), sprout (4-6) and sapling (7 and up). Amber, the talented web designer who launched it in January, is adding sites all the time (you don’t need to reload the toolbar, they will appear automatically). One of her latest additions is a drop-down menu of Storynory’s latest stories.
