We used an old text. These days we rewrite everything ourselves. We are about to embark on redoing the Arabian Nights, although it is difficult to adapt because the original is full of quite grown up themes. From what I recall, the language of this story is pretty dense. I would be very surprised if children aged 3 to 5 years old could get very far with it. We do provide the texts. Please label if there is killing or other violence in any story. Also indicate if there is detailed description of the violence. For example to say that the wolf "ate her up" is not very graphic, however as in Ali Baba and the forty thieves - a man is cut into quarters and then later sewed together. Pretty gruesome and shocking. I'm not sure you can categorize these stories by age - but rather I would like to know if there is killing or violence in advance. Thanks.
